Police Scotland has said it received information concerning time spent at Balmoral, the king's private estate in Scotland, by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The Guardian, citing a Press Association report, said the force confirmed the information in a statement published on Friday.

According to The Guardian, the force said it has "inquiries ongoing" into the visit to the royal estate in Scotland, at which Maxwell was also present. The report did not set out the scope of those inquiries beyond that description.

BBC News reported that the force said it had received information and stressed that its inquiries were at "an early stage". The BBC headline refers to active inquiries into both Andrew's and Epstein's visits to Balmoral.

The two reports differ slightly in wording. The Guardian described time spent at Balmoral by the three individuals, while BBC News referred to visits by Andrew and Epstein. Neither report gave dates for the visits.

The Guardian said more details would follow. Neither report stated whether any person has been interviewed or whether any further action has been taken.
